After 17 years with clinics and offices in the current East Hall location on Church Street, the Institute for Human Adjustment will be moving! The Psychological Clinic, the University Center for the Child and the Family, and the Institute’s central office will be moving to 500 E. Washington Street, near the corner of State Street and Washington. [Please note that the University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy will not be moving from its location on Catherine Street.]

This move from East Hall is necessary due to the growth and expansion of faculty and research groups within the Department of Psychology. Although our staff and students will miss our current proximity to the Department of Psychology, we are excited about our new location and the facility. I think you’ll find it’s a welcoming setting for our clinics, and in a wonderful location.

As you are probably aware, the U-M Psychological Clinic and University Center for the Child and the Family provide high quality psychological, psychiatric, and social work services for individuals and families from the University of Michigan community and surrounding region. We also provide excellent training in evaluation and psychotherapy within our nationally recognized psychology and social work training programs. Finally, we are increasingly involved in collaborative research, training, and student assistance initiatives with several University departments and units.

We do not anticipate any significant disruption of services or training activities with this move. It will not interrupt our clients’ care or ability to contact their clinical providers or billing personnel. Our offices will close at the end of the day on December 21, 2012 at our current location and reopen on January 4, 2013 at our new location at 500 E. Washington St., Ann Arbor. Our phone numbers and business hours will remain the same.
